New Demos Up

Hey! This weekend was Kenyon College reunions/Chasers (thats the a cappella group that Adrian NickP and I were/are in) reunions and we played a fun show at the VI on Kenyon's campus for a bunch of drunk alumni. Class of '89 women - if you're reading this, we love you.

We debuted 2 new songs - "When My Baby is a Mess" and "Anna Sun" as well as the brand new version of Jenny's Got a... which we LOVE.

I'm not sure how to post audio files on the blog just yet, but until then you can check myspace.com/walkthemoonband and hear a Lo Fi demo version of "Anna Sun" and of "Set the TV on Fire" which hopefully will help tide everyone over until we record the new album soon. Both were recorded with one mic in our rehearsal space in Nick's basement, so the quality leaves something to be desired.

Hopefully we'll see some pics appear from this weekend and we'll post them up here soon.

Keep listening and keep spreading the word about W/M!

Jenny's Got a body like a WHAT!?!

So today was an eventful day of rehearsal and experimentation. We essentially finished the band arrangement of a song temporarily called "When My Baby is a Mess" which comes from an old song by the band The Expert featuring the two nicks way back when. The song is totally different, but if you'd like you can hear the old track called "Shameless Ways" at The Expert's music page.

This is from an Expert show like 2 years ago.

Anywho, today we also took "Jenny's Got a..." and completely tore it apart, started something really new and rawer than the old version. We all had a borderline spiritual experience when the song started coming together. You gotta hear this shit.

We have lots more to do to be ready to record in LA soon, but things are happening.

Sickies

So Nick P. woke up with no voice yesterday and the acoustic video shoot has been rescheduled for early next week. Adrian just got in to town and we are currently setting up our equipment for hardcore rehearsal and revamping of old songs (we are planning on revamping Jenny's Got a... and Ball & Chain, among others). Stay tuned!

Ain't He Perdy?

This is a polaroid from rehearsal a while back. Ain't Nick L. a perdy man? We also decided that his last name Lerangis has now been officially changed to "LaRainbow" and will henceforth be referred to as such.

Acoustic Videos -

We're working on some new acoustic stuff for the recording session tomorrow, and I think you guys will be really happy. We may decide to take the audio from the session and release MP3s of our favorites for download on our blog, so stay tuned. Things are picking up for us now that we're in town and working on music again. We'll keep you posted every day!

Also, you MAY see Nick's Keytar at our next show. Just saying.

Today is my daddy's birthday! Happy Bday, pops!

We've been working on fundraising all day today, with spurts of creating new songs and preparing for our acoustic video shoot this Saturday. We have also been busy eating Nick P's parents out of house and home.

Adrian is coming in to town on Sunday (he would have been here earlier but his car is out of commission) so unfortunately he'll miss the acoustic shoot, but after that we'll be working on a bucketload of new songs that are in the works, as well as working on some old ones that haven't made their way into our repertoire since the new members joined (like Anthem, Don't Take Me Back, Ball & Chain, who knows what else).

If you'd like to help us out, go to walkthemoononline.com/store.htm and donate a few bucks to our CD recording and tour expenses so we can continue to do music every day. We really appreciate the support of our friends and fans.

Rock on,
adam
